Warnham LNR Ringing & Southwater CP Rail

An early morning ringing session at Warnham was fairly good with a nice mixture of birds caught. Also managed a new bird for me in the shape of a Nuthatch. Other new birds for me were:
Long-tailed Tit - 2
Wren - 1
Chaffinch - 6
Reed Bunting - 1
Great Tit - 2
Blue Tit - 5
Nuthatch - 1
Greenfinch - 1
Song Thrush - 1
Then a trip to Horsham Park produced my first Mallard of the year expertly caught by Bill Bayley!
Mallard - 1
Then popped into Southwater to see if the Water Rail (record shot above) was still present and to see if the new pair of Mute Swans had managed to hold onto the territory after kicking off the resident pair on Tuesday.
