Adder - West Sussex

Met up with Paul and went to look for some Adder's (Vipera berus) at one of his private sites. We had feared that it might have been to hot and if we did even see any that they would be very active due to the prolonged sunshine period.

We did however strike it lucky and found this stunning female basking in the bracken. Did pretty well considering she appeared to be pretty warm and active when we first found her. It looked like she was very fresh having just shed as she was in pristine condition.
Also my first butterflies of the year: Small Tortoiseshell, Comma and Peacock
