It is that time of year when Common Toads (Bufo bufo) are at their most vulnerable. A trip along the Litlington to Exceat road produced countless Toads migrating from the wintering sites in leaf litter to the breeding sites in the Cuckmere Valley. Sadly for lots of them it is their last journey but not at least for the 40+ I moved off the road to the safety of the ditches.
