Ortolan Bunting & Icterine Warbler

Ortolan Bunting - Emberiza hortulana
Icterine Warbler - Hippolais icterina

A good morning at Beachy Head which started off in Whitbread Hollow ringing which threw up good numbers of the common migrants as well as a couple of Groppers. Then headed back up to Horseshoe Plantation for another look at the Ortolan which was still present. Also manged a couple of pics today of it though into the sun. Simon Linnington then drove past say he had found an Icterine Warbler at Birling so I headed up there with Paul, Ian and Matt and had great views of this stunning Hippo with a HUGE white wing panel. Appalling record shot above!
