Ockford Fruit Farm - Ringing

Finally managed to get out ringing again once the roads had been cleared and the snow had begun to melt, or at least started to melt at home a little! It was therefore somewhat of a shock when the entire fruit farm was under 8" of the whitestuff!

Eventually got the nets up after de-frosting them and managed to catch 50 new birds which included: 14 Fieldfare, 20 Blackbird, 3 Redwing, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Greenfinch, 4 Goldfinch, 5 Robin and a Wren.

The Mistle Thrush was a first for me and a stunning bird, I have seen a couple in the hand but they really are beautiful birds. Also an interesting retrap was a Green Woodpecker, again a new species for me.
