Pulborough Brooks RSPB

An enjoyable morning spent at the reserve produced the usual herd of 100+ Fallow Deer (Dama dama) from West Mead. The sun had brought out plenty of Adders between Winpenny and Little Hanger. I counted 7 different snakes in about 50yds!

Also from Winpenny I had my first two Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius) of the year which takes me onto 171 for Sussex and 183 Nationally.

Many more flowers starting to come into bloom now. Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) bushes are full of flower (see pic), Primroses (Primula vulgaris), Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) and Ground Ivy (Glechoma hederacea) are also becoming more evident.
