Paradise Shelduck - Tadorna variegata
Paradise Shelduck - Tadorna variegata
An unusual visitor to the reserve today in the form of a Paradise Shelduck (1st winter). I first picked up a very odd call, almost grunt-like, out on the lake whilst moving the sheep. Soon I picked up the bird mingling with the Canada Geese. For those that don't know this species is endemic to New Zealand. It was also seen at Pulborough on the 23rd Aug and here briefly one morning in September.
