Arlington Reservoir - Pectoral Sandpiper

Pectoral Sandpiper - Distant!
Pectoral Sandpiper - Horrible crop
Ruff - Returned alone
An all to brief glimpse of the Pectoral Sandpiper this afternoon, I enjoyed in for all of 1 minute with another birder before the Lapwing took flight, then the 2 Ruff and reluctantly the Pectoral Sandpiper too as a Sparrowhawk (fem) passed high over the dam wall. It appeared to land in front of the Fishing Lodge so the other chap headed round there and I decided to stay on the dam wall. About 20 seconds later the entire west bank lifted and it was a huge mix of 1000+ Gulls, ducks and the few waders. Sadly despite a long wait the Pectoral Sandpiper was not relocated but one of the Ruff returned to the dam beach (See above) Also 1 Green Sandpiper, 10 Wigeon and 3 Teal
