Southwater Country Park

Toothwort - Lathraea squamaria

The Toothwort has finally come into flower at the country park and in another week the spikes will have extended to fully open. There are 14 spikes so far which is a good number. Toothwort is a parasite, like the Broomrape family, and can be seen on the roots of Hazel at the park.
