SPOONBILL - CUCKMERE HAVEN

A message from Matt to say he and Bob Self has found a Spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia) on the scrape at Cuckmere Haven at 7.50am. This caused mild panic as I set about getting down to the Golden Galleon as quickly as possible. Several nervous phone conversations on the way as it was a bit flighty but manged to get onto the bird sitting in the middle of a field! Not very Spoonbill-like but hey ho! 175 Sussex & 186 National. There was also a Swallow and Med Gull.

Of note the Spoonbill had lots of bird bling! Three rings on each leg which were; Left Leg Green/Yellow/Green, Right Leg Blue/Red-Orange/Lime Green.
